All my life, I have seen people slaughtered wholesale for no more reason than the deity they worshipped, or the color of their skin,or the presence in their DNA of an extra, special gene.
I have been a victim of the whims, the cruelties, the atrocities of "man" since the moment of my birth. In my youth, I believed I could rescue each mutant from the arrogance, the ignorance, the sheer cruelty that others call "humanity". I was convinced that physical strenghth, moral courage, would be enough. I was wrong. I realize now that earth, for the moment, is doomed. |
